Bobbing for Apples

Evalyn is at such a fun age right now. Her independence and creativity are both blossoming. This can lead to some unpleasant showdowns when her ideas aren't so safe or good, but it can also mean some fun moments like bobbing for apples.

I don't remember which book the idea was introduced, but she read about bobbing for apples and apparently loved the idea. One rainy afternoon she and Henry were outside playing and she saw the full buckets of water in the yard. She came barrelling back in the house and took apples from the fridge to put in the buckets so she could bob for them. It was quite the funny thing. Even moreso when Matt and I compared notes and realized it was her original idea, ie neither of us had ever introduced the concept to her before.

That is one sharp and ambitious little girl! She reminds me of my sister, somehow... ;)
